Blenda Jo’s Obituary Blenda Jo “B.J.” Godwin-Marion, 70, of Topeka passed away on March 7, 2019. She was born March 2, 1949 in Topeka the daughter of William A. and Leila I. Snyder. Blenda attended school in Highland Park and graduated from Highland Park High School.

She attended college at Washburn and received her degree from K-State in education. She taught elementary physical education for over 30 years for USD 501. Schools she taught at included Quinton Heights, State Street, Polk and Gage Elementary.

She enjoyed working with her plants in her greenhouse at home. She loved to travel and often talked of a trip she took to New Orleans. Blenda loved to spend time with her family, especially at the holidays.

She also enjoyed going to the Walnut Valley Blue Grass Festival at Winfield. She is survived by her son, Zachariah Godwin and his wife Sheila of Carbondale; grandchildren, Vincent Godwin, James “Jame” Godwin, Makayla Godwin, Dakota Graham, Preston Graham and Kaleb Graham; her brother, Dennis Snyder of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her son, James Scot Godwin; her parents, Bill and Leila Synder and several aunts and uncles.
