Mary Alyse Russell Walton Loder, 88, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019. Mary was born December 2, 1930, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, the daughter of James and Katherine Russell. She grew up in Wilmington, Delaware.

Mary graduated from Dupont High School and Goldy-Beacom Business School. She married Philip Walton and they lived in Halifax, Canada, Lawrence, Kansas, Kansas City area, Atwood, Kansas and Hiawatha, Kansas. They later divorced.

Following her divorce, Mary moved to Topeka and eventually married James Loder, her high school sweetheart. They moved back to Wilmington. After James’ death, she moved back to Topeka.

Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a great sense of humor and loved KU Basketball and Notre Dame Football. Mary is survived by her children, Pat Walton Banke, Phil Walton, Jr. and Paul Walton; grandchildren, Gabe Walton (Susie), Kristin Allen (Jon), Andrew Walton and Jenny Kelly (Nate); and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John and James Russell; and granddaughter, Rosemary Blanke Corbin. Services are pending. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
