Blood Pernu, 54, of Havelock, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Vidant Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Annunciation Catholic Church, with Father Bill Upah presiding. Blood honorably served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps for 9 years and worked at FRC-Cherry Point for numerous years doing aviation.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Annunciation Catholic Church, and he especially enjoyed being the Coach of the Havelock Rams Wrestling Team. He is survived by his wife, Lilia Pernu of the home; mother, Cathryn Pernu of Minneapolis, MN; sister-in-law, Neida Drews and husband Richard of Hubert; and his favorite dog, Bella. He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Pernu.

The family will receive friends following the service at Annunciation Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Online condolences may be made at www.
