Jeanette Willis Morris, 82, of Smyrna, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Carteret Health Care. Services to be announced. Jeanette was born at home and raised in Smyrna in the Down East Community.

Her husband and love of her life’s career took her all over the country and the world. She was a lifetime member of Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church, a charter member of the Goldwing Riders Association and the Twin Rivers Paddle Club. She loved to go mullet fishing and clamming.

Jeanette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Alfred Morris of the home; daughter, Yvonne Morris and husband Troy Morris, III of Morehead City; sons, Larry Neal Morris and wife Carolyn of Smyrna and Herbert Eugene Morris of Davis; nieces and nephews, Sherrie Murphy, Pam Bazemore, Dennis Willis, Jeremy Willis, Wayne Willis; brother-in-law, Bobby Willis; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Guy Willis, Sr. and Doris Pigott Willis; sister, Clarice Willis; brother, Willie Guy Willis, Jr.; grandson, Troy Morris, IV; and great-grandson, Corbin Guthrie.
