Bobby passed away at his home March 28, 2019 In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Pettit Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 150 CR 248, Gustine, TX, 76455 Bobby Ray Rogers was born June 5, 1935, in Ennis TX to Ruby and Lilly Jane (Gann) Rogers. After his school years were completed, he began working with the family as traveling farm workers, going the local area of Ennis to Electra and their surrounding areas. He married Marcie Virginia Green March 25, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Agriculture, farming was Bobby’s lifelong way of providing for his family but it was not the only way he labored to supply their needs. He worked for Lennard Brothers in Fort Worth managing the repair of lawn equipment. Bobby branched out to own his business of lawn equipment repair, owning/operating a service station, a feed store, a restaurant, a dairy and a flea market.

For enjoyment, and a past time, he like to work by buying and selling all kinds of equipment, drinking coffee, and eating good cooking. Bobby was a very strong Christian leading people to Christ, a Baptist, and an active deacon in the various churches he attended. Bobby is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia Rogers; sons, Roy Rogers and wife “Sissy” of Gustine, Trigger Rogers and wife Aletha of Proctor; grandchildren, Chuck Rogers and wife Christina of Gustine, Dusty Rogers and wife Jennifer of Dublin, Joseph Ballengee and wife Amanda of Melton, Pennsylvania, great grandchildren, Dustin Russell and wife Hunter, Bree-Anna Russell, Emma Ballengee, Laya Halloway, Aunya Halloway; great-great grandchild, Forrest Everett Russell; sister Evelyn Plowman of Fort Worth; numerous nieces and nephews.
