Linda Lou Stewardson was born on November 30, 1933 in Santa Anna to Tom and Thelma (Kincaid) Stewardson. She attended Santa Anna schools and graduated in 1951 and earned her bachelor of arts in education from Sul Ross State University. Linda taught school in Odessa for a short time before moving to Brownwood to work for the Texas Youth Commission as a diagnostician.

She was a member of the Austin Avenue Church of Christ. Linda is survived by her sister, Ann Dunaway of Fairview, her brother, Tom Stewardson and wife Melinda of Buffalo Gap; niece, Hilary Stegemoller and husband Josh of Brownwood, nephews, John Dunaway and wife Kris of Lucas, Sam Stewardson and wife Laura of Brownwood, Ben Stewardson and wife Amy of Frisco, Joe Stewardson and wife Meridith of Abilene and a host of cousins. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Mark Steven Slusher in 1982, a brother-in-law, Dewitt Dunaway and a sister-in-law, Beverly Stewardson.
