Roy Allen Allison was born to Junior Allen Allison and Eva Dee (Hallford) Allison on November 21, 1948 in Andrews. He grew up in Brownwood and joined the United States Navy in 1965. He served during Vietnam on the USS Decatur.

After his service he returned to Brownwood and began his career as an electrician in 1974. In 1982, he and his partners began Chaparral Electric for 35 years. By 1993, he ran his own business, Roy Allison Electric, from home.

After a 44 year career, Roy retired in 2017 due to health concerns. Roy married the love of his life, Mary Bell Goins, in Brownwood on December 31, 1973. They were married for 46 years and had three daughters.

They made their home outside of Brownwood and cherished their time together living the country life. With his family and friends, he enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, hunting, traveling, and playing golf. Years after his own children were grown, Roy experienced a new joy in life as “Papa” to his precious four granddaughters and one grandson.

His memory lives on through his wife, Mary Bell Allison; daughters: Amy McCune and husband David of North Carolina, Dee Ann Hallford and husband Cliff of Abilene, Melissa Brooks and husband Wesley of Austin, and like a son to Roy, Stacy Sprowls of San Antonio; Brothers: Johnny Dale Allison and wife Susan of Houston, Mern Allison and wife Connie of Abilene, Sam Allison of Lake Brownwood, sister, Jean (Sissy) Young and husband Ron Young of Bangs; Grandchildren: Candice Littleton and husband Tyler of Michigan, Dara Wise of San Marcos, Macy Brooks of Austin, Kyndall Wise of North Carolina and Miles Brooks of Austin and nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by his grandparents: Roy Thomas Allison and Annie Ethel Allison; parents: Junior Allen Allison and Eva Dee Hallford, stepmother, Ala Mae (Blondie) Allison; sister Judy Laughlin; three brother in-laws, James Goins, Carl Goins and Frank Goins and aunts and uncles.
