Robert “Bob”‘s Obituary Robert Cason Baker Robert Cason Baker, age 88, of Brownwood passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019, in Goldthwaite. Funeral Services for Robert will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2019, at Calvary Baptist Church with Artie Woodcox officiating; burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood. Robert was born on December 8, 1930, to James Baker, Sr. and Lillie (Cason) Baker in Burkett, Coleman County, Texas. Bob was one of 18 children.

Bob graduated from Coleman High School in 1948; he joined the National Guard right out high school. In 1950, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served for 6 years. Bob married the love of his life, Annie Lura McQueen, on January 15, 1951, in Coleman.

He was district measurement superintendent in Bay City, Texas for Valero Transmission. After his retirement in 1989, they moved to Brownwood. He was a HAM radio operator and belonged to the HAM Club and Brownwood Amateur Radio Club.

Bob was also a Mason, he served at Indian Creek Lodge as Master and past Commander, belonging to all the Masonic Lodges for 65 years. He was a member of Eastern Star and served as a worthy patron at Coleman and Brownwood. Bob was a Christian man with a Baptist background.

Bob was a wonderful husband, father, and provider for his family. Bob is survived by his wife of 68 years, Annie Baker of Brownwood; children, Ronald Wayne Baker of Midland, Donald Ray Baker and wife Alice of San Antonio, Annetta Jolene Winkler and husband Richard of Monahans; 4 grandsons, Lance Winkler, Troy Winkler, David Baker, and Jonathon Baker; 1 brother, Edwin Baker of Brownwood; and 1 sister, Madie Burton of Round Rock. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James, Sr. and Lillie Baker; 1 son, Robert A. Baker; and of his 15 siblings. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.
