Phyliss Kay Lynn Black Ledbetter, 73, of May, TX passed away in San Angelo, TX on Sunday, March 10, 2019. A visitation with family will be held at Heartland Funeral Home, Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 6 – 8 PM. The funeral service will be Friday, March 15, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Heartland Funeral Chapel with Terry Way officiating.

Interment will be after the service at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, May, TX. Kay was born in Merkel, TX to Edward Arch and Robbie Louise Black October 19th, 1945. She attended high school at Abilene ISD.

She married Edward “Tooter” Ledbetter December 23, 1963 in Abilene, TX for over 54 joyful years. Their union was blessed with three beautiful children. Kay was a homemaker and worked for others babysitting, house cleaning and as a caregiver.

She was a nursery volunteer at the Life Church in San Angelo, TX. Kay loved baking, garage sales, painting, crafts, flowers, winning at cards and of course, all of her dogs and animals. She attended church in San Angelo at the Life church, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in May and at the ministry of God.

She belonged to the American Legion #470, loved her bible study class and playing Bunko. Kay is survived by her son, David Ledbetter and Tammy Marburger of Huntsville, TX; daughter, Loretta and husband Quincy Garmon of Sonora, TX; brother, Jerry and wife Nora Black; sisters, Janet Porter, Vickie and husband Ron Schmidt, Brenda Ingram; 3 grandchildren, Heather and husband Jesse Cavin, Ryan and wife Olivia Garmon, Justin Garmon; 3 great grandchildren, Hayden Ledbetter, Jade Cavin, McKenna Garmon and many nieces, nephews and friends. Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward “Tooter” Ledbetter, daughter, Brenda Lanay Ledbetter, great grandbaby Cavin, WT and Flora Mae Ledbetter, William and Linda Ledbetter, Charles and Paula Ledbetter and Sharon Moreno.
