Brenda Lee Murphy, 56, of Sanford passed away Friday January 11, 2019 at the Durham VA Medical Center. She was born September 19, 1962 in Lee County to Joyce and Charles Maddox. Brenda was preceded in death by her mother Joyce Archer Maddox.

Brenda served her country as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. She later went on to work in the nursing field. Brenda will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by her daughter Justine Elizabeth Murphy;… her son Stacy Murphy Jr.; granddaughter Jaden Lee Murphy; her father and step-mother Charles and Catherine Maddox; her brother Richard Maddox; and numerous friends. No services are planned at this time. Services are entrusted to Miller-Boles Funeral Home of Sanford.
