Brian’s Obituary Brian Scott Bonds, 48, of Iuka, MS, passed away due to complications associated with brain cancer on Wednesday, March 26, 2019 at University Methodist Hospital in Memphis, TN. Brian was born July 9, 1970, and was the son of Tommy and Wanda Bonds of Iuka, MS. Brian worked his life as a welder and as an equipment operator in the tradition of his family, but is probably best known for his unique and creative entrepreneurial endeavors.

Brian was a self-styled simple man, a great lover of hunting and the outdoors, a collector and relic hunter, and most of all a tremendous lover of people. Those blessed to know him will always remember his fierce loyalty and sweet spirit. He was a man thoroughly sincere, unabashedly honest, and deliberately genuine–to know him a week was to know him as he was.

To be his friend a day was to be his friend for his life, and to be his friend was to be his family. He was a member of Burnsville Church of Christ. Brian is survived by his wife, Shelly Hales Bonds of Iuka; his parents, Tommy and Wanda Bonds of Iuka; two step-children, Autumn Russell and C.J. Russell of Walnut; two brothers, Bradley (Cindy) Bonds and Brent Bonds, both of Iuka; his niece and nephew, Caroline Bonds and Connor Bonds, both of Iuka; along with a large extended family and host of good friends.

Brian is preceded in death by grandparents Thomas H. and Esther Burns of Doskie and grandparents Thomas H. and Wylodene Bonds of Iuka. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, March 28, at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ and will continue from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Friday. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 29, at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ, officiated by Rick Jones, Ron Adams, Mike Nash, and James Randle.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Timmy Anglin, Phillip Bonds, Junior Cummings, Mike Nash, James Randle, and Haven Smith. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is entrusted with arrangements.

Memorials can be made to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery Fund c/o Ricky Inlow.
