Brian William Roy, “Ishkwegwaneb” which means “He Who Sits at the End”, 22 years young, of the Turtle Clan and Red Lake, Minnesota journeyed to the happy hunting grounds from his home in Red Lake, MN on Saturday, May 25th, 2019. He was born the son of Kelly (Greene) and William Roy on October 30th, 1996 in Bemidji, MN. Brian was a very artistic young man who was talented in many different types of art, especially drawing and sketching.

He enjoyed listening to music and playing the guitar and drums. Brian liked joking around with people and making them laugh. He hung out and cruised around with his friends whenever he could.

Brian also loved being out in nature and enjoyed fishing. He had a passion for working on cars, something that came naturally to him. Brian was an avid gun enthusiast and was very protective of his family.

Family that Brian is reunited with are his son; Baby Lussier-Roy, mother; Kelly Roy, girlfriend; Brittney Lussier, grandfathers; Glen Greene and William Roy, Sr., uncles; Roland Roy and Brian Desjarlait, and many other relatives and friends. He leaves behind his father; William (Leighchelle) Roy, Jr., sisters; Misty (Scott) and Ahn Draya (Tom) Roy, grandmothers; Kay Greene and Marian (Cobenais) Roy, niece; Rhianna May, nephew; Scott Pemberton III, aunties; Rachael Greene, Wilma (Tony) Roy-Mondragon and Mary Ann (Richard) Cook, uncles; Breeze Redsky, Alan Matrious, Jim (Kay) Roy, great aunt; Joan Cobenais and Gloria Cobenais, great uncles; Leo, David, Fred, Donald and Arlen Desjarlait, Rocky Cook, Lloyd Donnell, Frank “Sonny” Donnell, special cousins; Dontez “Tezzy” Martin and Bryleigh Sayers, numerous cousins, family members and friends. A wake for Brian will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30th and continue until his 11:00 a.m. traditional service on Saturday, June 1st all being held at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, MN.

Arnold Kingbird will be his Spiritual Advisor. Pallbearers for Brian will be Rob Cook, Sr., Robin Roy, Sr., Scott Pemberton, Jr., Ed Cook, Gerald Cook, Thomas May, Kurt Tarnow, Jeremy Martin, Sr., Devin Neadeau, Logan Rudolph, Lukas Rudolph, Joey Fairbanks, Cody Loud, Mike Hegstrom, Jr., Leonard Spears, Jr., Justyce Lussier, Roland “Jesse” Roy, Stan Cook, Curt May, Cory “Goon” Desjarlait, Francisco Smith and Lydell Cook-Defoe. His honorary pallbearers are Bobbi Jo Head, Donalda Desjarlait, Darian Desjarlait, Lilah Sayers, Dawn Sayers, Lanae Cook, Ashley Cook, Ashley Cobenais, Samantha Lussier, Morningstar Jones, Rhianna May, Gerilyn Lussier, Billie Jean Roy, Maria Hanson, Shaundae White, James Martin and Shirley Cook.
