UTICA – Bryce David Hoyle, age 5 1/2 months, went to Heaven as an angel when he passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at MVHS at St. Elizabeth Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Born at St. Luke’s on October 18, 2018, Bryce was the son of Ashley M. Wratten and Calvin Hoyle. He also knew the love of his step-dad “papi” Rafael Rodriguez.

Baby Bryce was curious about his surroundings, and TV entertained him. He had a hearty appetite and was a happy little guy. His smile could light up a room.

He giggled, played, stood strong, and jumped in his jolly jumper. Bryce was always with his mom, and she had a mutual, unconditional maternal bond of love and understanding with him. His brother Deshawn was his best friend.

His Nana’s life changed when he was born and she saw him as a star. Bryce followed his papi with his eyes. He had positive vibes that drew people to him.

He was a miracle baby and his magical ways won him the love and affection of everyone. His precious life was short, but it touched so many hearts in so many ways. His mom, Ashley, is involved with Care Net Pregnancy Center, a not-for-profit support agency whose members assist families in many ways in Utica and Rome.

May he always be overseeing the blessings bestowed by this wonderful company’s mission. Bryce’s angelic life will remain in the hearts of his parents, Ashley and Rafael; his brothers, Parker, Gabriel, and Deshawn; maternal grandparents, Pamela Nelson and step-grandfather, Michael Ebare; his aunts and uncles including Kaylynne Nelson, and Kyle, and Kevin Nelson, great-aunts and great-uncles, and cousins including Adrianna, and Kyla. He was predeceased by his maternal great-grandparents, Mary and Phillip “Butch” Nelson; and great-uncle, Wayne Nelson.
