Burnie Joseph (Bill) Trepanier, 81 of Bemidji passed away May 2nd, 2018 from Leukemia. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, May 8th at 11:00 A.M. at the Bemidji Eagles Club. Lunch will be served.

Bill was born in Kelliher, Mn May 16th 1936. He was the 9th of 12 children born to Wilbrun (Barney) and Selma Trepanier. He married Marlyce Strand in 1955, and they were married 62 years.

He is survived by his 5 children, Julianne (Jeff) Bell, Vicky Trepanier, Burnie Trepanier, Steve (Anne) Trepanier, Tonia (Edward) Henry. 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. One sister Audrey (Leroy) Tobey, and a special friend Ernie Sampson.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, five brothers and five sisters, a grandson Joshua, and Pat Sullivan. Bill was in the Labor Union, and Teamsters Union for many years. He then went to work on the Soo Line Railroad, and was in the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Union where he retried from.

His foreman Edward Morrissette and Ernie Sampson were his best friends. Bill had a great amount of love for this family, which he was extremely proud of. He enjoyed all the time he could spend with them.

Bill was not one to sit idle, whether he was overhauling a vehicle, logging, or cruising the country side looking for the “deals” he couldn’t pass up. We always enjoyed his colorful and straight forward way of “telling it like it is”. Bill was one of a kind, he was talented, and independent, he never complained, he worked hard and wasn’t one to ask for help.

He lived his life on his terms. Bill’s care has been entrusted to Dennis Funeral Home of Walker.
