Burton R. Schaar, age 91 of Jackson Township, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018. He was born in Massillon on September 30, 1927 and was the son of the late Otto and Florence (Stanford) Schaar. Burt was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army.

He went on to work at Eaton Manufacturing for 47 years and following his retirement he worked at Adams Sign Company for 15 years. He was a lifelong Massillon Tigers fan. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Jean Schaar in 1979 and 5 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his second wife, Dorothy (Racine) Schaar, his daughters, Diana (Jerry) Miller and Pamela (Gary) Brown, his grandchildren, Deanna (Mark) Albrecht, Darla (Stephen) Hostetler, Erich Brown and Marissa (Beau) Cummings, great grandchildren, Justin (Angela) Dominick, Nick Cottillion, Erin (Matt Barnes) McCune, Asher Albrecht, Brandon (Rachel) Hostetler, Brianna Hostetler, Arianna Brown and Colton Cummings and 5 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
