HOLYOKE Carl A. “Ziggy” Signet, 79, of Holyoke, was called home on June 15th surrounded by his loving family. Carl, born May 22, 1939, was predeceased by his beloved wife of forty-nine years, Mary (Scannell), and his parents, August and Helen (Joyce) Signet. Ziggy will be dearly missed by his daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Kevin Fitzgerald, Pamela and Robert Harnois, and Patricia Signet and Philip Berry, grandchildren, Nicholas and Kathleen Fitzgerald, Mary Ellen Harnois, Maureen and Madison Berry, sister-in-law Kathleen Masi, brother, Retired Colonel Paul Signet, their families, lifelong friend Tom Hogan, dear friend Sheelagh Roache, and many relatives and friends.

Carl was a graduate of Sacred Heart School, and University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and was a long time sales professional and proprietor for business equipment in the Pioneer Valley. An avid reader, storyteller, traveler and friend and to many, his presence will be sorely missed. His family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Mercylife PACE, Christopher Heights and Mt.

St. Vincent for their devoted care of Ziggy. Family and friends are asked to gather Thursday in St. Patrick Chapel of St. Jerome Church for Ziggy’s Funeral Mass at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St. Jerome Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 577 Carew Street, Springfield 01104, or Providence Ministries for the Needy, 40 Brightside Way, Holyoke, 01040.
