HOLYOKE Joan Ann Consedine (Driscoll) died peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 31st, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous 5-year battle with heart disease. Joan was the daughter of Edward and Luella (Ross) Driscoll. She was born and raised in Holyoke.

She graduated in 1949 from Sacred Heart High School and attended St. Josephs College in West Hartford. A devoted mom, Joan stayed home with her children until the youngest was old enough for school. She then worked as a purchasing agent and retired from the Canson Talens company in South Hadley.

Family was the most important thing to Joan, she carried forth family traditions with enthusiasm, humor and love, leaving us with many beautiful memories. She was a deeply loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a kind and thoughtful person who will be sadly missed.

She leaves her husband of 63 years Donald Consedine; Six children: Donna Marino of Longmeadow, Steven Consedine of Northampton,Laura Bradley and her husband Pat of South Hadley, Jeff Consedine and his wife Kim of Springfield, Mary Poisson and her husband Ron of Longmeadow, and Patrick Consedine and his wife Jennifer of Holyoke. Eleven grandchildren: Jillian Marino of Springfield, Andrea Marino of Venice, CA, Gina Marino and her fiancé Jesse Beaudoin of Monson, expecting great grandson Mason in August; Ryan Bradley and his wife Alex of Enfield, CT, Allyson (Bradley) Calvanese and her husband Luke of Longmeadow, Michael Poisson of Syracuse, NY, Katherine Poisson of Amherst, Aiden and Nicholas Consedine of Holyoke, Colin and Matthew Consedine of Springfield, and beautiful great-granddaughter Evelyn Calvanese whose sister is expected in October. Joan also leaves 2 sisters, MaryLou Moulton of Chicago, IL and Janet Driscoll of Holyoke.

Her beloved sister Elizabeth Wotton (Betty) predeceased her. She leaves her brother-in -law Robert Consedine and his wife Anne of Agawam. And many treasured nieces and nephews from the Moulton, Wotton and Consedine families.

She leaves her dearest friends Maureen O’Brien, Gay Downs and Barbara and Ray Malley, whose families have remained close to ours for many years. May God Bless you and keep you Mom. Rest in Peace.

We are so blessed to have you as our forever angel. The funeral will be held Saturday, June 2nd at 10:15am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by Mass in St. Patrick Chapel of St. Jerome Church at 11:00am. Calling hours will be held Saturday morning from 8:15 to 10:15 a.m. Burial will be private.
