HOLYOKE Alfreda Lacroix, age 87, passed away peacefully Sunday July 15, 2018 at Loomis House in Holyoke. She was born in Chicopee, daughter of the late Alfred P. and Mary V. (Wisnewski) Lacroix, and was a graduate of Chicopee High School. Freda worked in various roles in the banking industry from teller to loan officer.

She was a communicant of the former Assumption Church in Chicopee. Freda always looked forward to her monthly meetings with “the club”, a group of high school friends who met once a month for many years. The family would like to recognize Freda’s special friend Mickey Beldon for her companionship over the years.

Freda is survived by two nieces: Roberta Urbanski and her husband David of South Hadley, and Suzanne Balicki and her husband Thomas of Chicopee; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters: Lorraine Boulay and her husband Robert, and Jeannette “Tootsie” Benoit and her husband Robert, all of Chicopee. The funeral will be held Thursday July 19 at 11:00a.m. in St. Patrick Chapel of St. Jerome Church.

Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Chicopee. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union Street, Springfield, MA 01105.
