HOLYOKE: Robert R. Giroux, age 78, of Holyoke, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Holyoke Soldier’s Home. He was born and educated in Holyoke, son of the late Wilfred J. and Leona M. (Proper) Giroux. Robert was a United States Navy Veteran and worked for the USPS Bulk Mail Center for twenty years.

He was a member of the VFW Post 7352 and an avid Red Sox Fan. Robert is survived by a daughter, Madelyn Giroux of Springfield; three sons, Robert, Wade and Joseph Giroux, all of Westfield; a granddaughter, Andrea Giroux of Springfield and two brothers, Wayne Giroux of Clinton, ME and Joseph and his wife Barbara Giroux of Westfield. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Ronald and Andrew Giroux.

Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. There are no calling hours. The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Robert to the Holyoke Soldier’s Home Patient Recreation Fund, 110 Cherry Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
