Carl Edward Mainer passed away at his home on Friday, August 31, 2018. He was77 years old. Born May 14, 1941 in Statesboro, Georgia, Carl had been a South Bend resident for more than 67 years.

He was most recently employed with S & S Cartage and was an active member of Greater St. John M. B. Church where he served on the Usher Board. Surviving to cherish his memory are his mother, Almarie Mainer and sons, Carl E. Mainer, Jr. and Anthony T. Mainer. Carl is also survived by a brother, Alfonso Smith and a sister, Elaine Smith along with three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
