SOUTH BEND – John R. Zurawski, 72, passed away at 9:41pm Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in Memorial Hospital. John was born on September 7, 1946 in South Bend to John and Ethelyn (Townsley) Zurawski. He was employed by AM General and also worked as a school crossing guard.

John proudly served his country in the United States Army. He loved fishing, hunting, bingo, the casino and metal detecting. On May 30, 2009 he married the former Dorothy “Dottie” McCormick who survives along with daughters Jennifer Hicks, Jill (Will) Bontrager and Carol (Erik) Anderson, a son Christopher Troeger, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sisters Maryellen (Roger) Curry and Janet (Jake) Karn and a brother Andrew (Karen) Zurawski.

John was preceded in death by 2 brothers Alexander Zurawski and Michael Zurawski. There will be no services. Cremation has taken place.
