Obituary for Carl Grey Morgan Farmville……………………………. Carl Grey Morgan, age 66, passed away peacefully at Vidant Inpatient Hospice Center on Sunday, September 30, 2018. He was a true life warrior and soldier of the cross and was welcomed “Home”.
Carl was born on February 8, 1952 in Wilson, NC to his parents the late Rev. A.C. Morgan, and Elsie Shirley Morgan. At his death Carl was a member of Parker’s Chapel FWB church and taught Sunday School in the many churches his dad Pastored, and at Parker’s Chapel until he could no longer attend church.
Carl took on a life-long battle with Muscular Dystrophy when he was 11 years old. He determined it would not conquer him. Doctors projected he would not live past 20 years of age.
His unwavering faith in God, love for life, and determination proved them wrong. In spite of the ever present, and constantly increasing health challenges, Carl attended Welch College in Nashville, TN, and later earned a degree in Human Services at Pitt Community College in Greenville, NC, and served on the planning board up until his recent sickness. He was principal, teacher, and basketball coach of Life Gate Christian School in Greenville, and Victory Christian School in Henderson, NC.
He was also an avid NC State fan. Carl was known for his quick wit, integrity, and love for all people. He was respected, admired, and appreciated.
Eternity will reveal the many lives he impacted in his fully lived 66 years on this earth. Most of all, Carl will be remembered as a true servant of God and family man. He loved God, God’s word, his church, and was totally devoted to his family.
