Obituary for Carmela Lauro Carmela F. Lauro on Manalapan passed away on Wednesday morning surrounded by her loving family. Born in Brooklyn to the late Joseph & Francesca Cappiello, Carmela was devoted to her family. She took great pride and joy in hosting Holiday dinners at her home, sometimes for 50 people.

Taking care of her family brought her joy and happiness. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid Yankee fan. Her husband of 58 years Neal passed away in 2011.

She is survived by her four sons; Sal, Neal, Joseph and John, her daughters in law; Bernadine, Alice, Stacie and Letitia. She also leaves behind her 14 grandchildren and her 7 great grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday from 5- 9PM and on Friday morning from 7:45-9:45 AM, at the Michael Hegarty and John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, 3377 US Highway 9 North Old Bridge.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church begining at 10:15 AM Friday.
