Obituary for Carol Belle Stout Carol Belle Stout, of Rockwall, TX, passed away July 23, 2018, at the age of 89. She was born at home in Montclair, NJ, December 23, 1928, to wonderful parents, Lee Loveland and Bernice Emmerson (Williams) Bowman. Carol joined two sisters, Irene and Muriel, and their brother, Lee, was born two years later.

They grew up in South Orange, NJ, and Nutley, NJ, where Carol graduated from high school and then secretarial school. Carol had been dating Russ Stout. He was discharged from the Navy.

Russ came to Texas, and they were married September 16, 1948, in Lovers Lane Methodist Church by Reverend Tom Shipp. Russ and Carol returned to New Jersey, where Russ earned his college degree while Carol worked. Russ owned his own business, a manufacturer’s representative for several companies.

In 1968, Carol, Russ and their five sons moved to Texas from New Jersey. Carol and her family moved to Rockwall, TX, into a large house that Carol designed and they had built. Carol was very talented, and she learned to paint on China.

She painted a nativity set with Mother of Pearl paint. She painted Joseph, Mary, baby Jesus plus 15 pieces, including a few camels! Years ago, Russ made a stable for the nativity set, and every year since, she displayed it.

Carol collected the Dickens Villages and now has 54 houses and accessories. She displayed her beautiful Christmas village every year in the Liberty Heights dining room, and it was spectacular! Christmas time was a special time for Carol.

She would reminisce about when she used to bake for 10 days, right after Thanksgiving. She would make over 400 gingerbread boys which were nearly 5″ long, ice them and wrap them in saran wrap. She had two large stockings that would hang by the front door, and she filled them with gingerbread boys.

Visitors would come to see her decorations, and when they’d leave, she would give them a gingerbread boy to eat! A member of Allen United Methodist Church, Carol felt so very blessed each day, and she gave thanks to God for her blessings. Every day, she said a prayer, “Lord, help me to say and to be only that which pleases Thee”.

A proud grandmother and great grandmother, Carol was very friendly and enjoyed a special greeting where she would kiss both cheeks as she said, “Hello! ” She touched many lives and will be remembered dearly by all who knew her. Carol is survived by her sons: Russell Lee Stout and wife Tomi Lea of Rockwall, Ronald Edward Stout of Dallas, TX, Bryan Keith Stout and wife Jennifer of Frisco, TX, Jeffrey Allen Stout and wife Sheri of Dallas and Scott Andrew Stout of Bonham, TX; grandchildren: Rachel, Ryan, Logan, Austin, Taylor, Zachary and Chelsea; and great grandchildren: Adelia, Opal, Emery Mae, Cash, Carter, Cooper, Miles, Sophia, Mila and Anastasia; along with a host of loving relatives and dear friends.
