Carol Lee Erickson passed away peacefully at home on January 26, 2019 surrounded by her family after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born in New Baltimore, MI to Archie and Viola (Kaatz) McEachin. Carol married Gerald (Jerry) Erickson on May 28, 1960.

She was a loving mother to Amy and Alan (Janice) and grandmother to Alicia and Andrew. Jerry and Carol have made their home in St. Clair for 59 years. Carol is preceded in death by her brother Bill McEachin and survived by sisters Faye (Richard) Heinrich and Margaret McEachin.

Before marriage, Carol was a hairdresser and after raising her children, she was a clerk at Gierk’s Shoe Store in Richmond for many years. When not spending time with her grandchildren, Carol loved needlework, sewing and was an avid gardener. She golfed and bowled in St. Clair and was proud to say she beat her husband at times.

She enjoyed traveling, especially to California to spend time with her daughter. She and Jerry were faithful UM football fans and season ticket holders for over 30 years. She was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be Wednesday January 30th at 11:00 a.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2-8 p.m. Donations in memory of Carol can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
