Born on August 30, 1948 in Hilo, she was a homemaker. Celebration of Life, Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo, with viewing from 9-10 a.m. and service at 10 a.m. She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Cortez Sr.; mother, Julia Feliciano Cortez; sisters, Veronica Keahilihau, Priscilla Cortez; and brothers-in-law, Travis Gattis, Jolan Keahilihau, and Xavier Santos Sr

She is survived by sons, Joseph (Tashanna L.K.) Cortez of Hilo, Frank (Lisa) Rios Jr. of Pahoa; daughters, Elesia (Michael) Medeiros of Mt. View, Andrea (Noah Serrano) Cortez of Pahoa; siblings, Evelyn (Patrick) Nobriga, Benjamin Cortez Jr., Susan Gattis, Sandra (Johnito) Santos; 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and nurses, Terrilyn Requelman, Shelly Vallespin.
