Services for Carolyn Ann (Robinson) Johnson, 75, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Woods Memorial Temple, COGIC, 230 Leach St., Lufkin, TX. Burial will follow in the Davis Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Friday from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at Woods Memorial Temple, COGIC.

Mrs. Johnson was born May 24, 1943 in Deadwood, TX. and died March 3, 2019 in Houston, TX. Interment will follow in the Davis Memorial Gardens.

Carolyn was born in Deadwood, Texas, to the late J . D. and Velma Robinson on May 24, 1943.

She had been employed as a Nurses Aide and a cook for various restaurants. On June 20, 1967 she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Roger Van Johnson. To this union ten children were born: Kim R. Brady (Shelia), Reginald V. Robinson (Karen), Diane R. Johnson (Bruce), Renee L. Wade, Dr. Eric R Johnson (Kila), Johnathan E. Johnson, Gwendolyn J. Johnson, Tony Johnson and two preceding her in deatgh, Cedric D. Johnson and Patrick Johnson.

Her livelihood consisted of fishing, gardening, singing, homemaking, caring for others, and she was the #1 cook this side of Texas. Carolyn’s Religious Affiliations included: Received the Holy Ghost at the age of 13, during a Revival being conducted by Rev. Duhart, at Zion Temple COGIC, under the leadership of the former Pastor, Elder John Woods; which is now presently Woods Memorial Temple COGIC, under the leadership of her brother, Supt.

Chester Robinson. She loved serving with the Hospitality Dept. And with the Lufkin District and the Texas Southeast Third Jurisdiction.

Survivors: Her husband, Roger Van Johnson; Stepson, Lamar Haynes; Grandchildren, Whitney Wade, Taran E. Robinson, Keanu Johnson, Shaquille Johnson, Charity Johnson, Destiny Wade, Jamarcus Horace, Cedacia Johnson, Le Aaron Houston, Kery Ingram, Kendyl Davis; Greatgrandchild, Elacia Lasster; Brothers and sisters, Chester Robinson (Brenda), Tincy Harris (Melvin), Roy Robinson (Cassandra), Valla Robinson, Carolyn Burns (Larry) John Robinson, Eva Robinson, Dorothea Robinson, Betty Langston (Pastor Lezo Langston) and Brenda Delane (Earnest). Carolyn was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Robinson; A wealth of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
