Carolyn F. Hennis, 71, of Ingalls, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019 at St. Vincent Anderson Hospital. She was born October 30, 1947 in Harlan, Kentucky to the late Tressie and Emma (Collins) Shepherd. Carol was a homemaker, but also worked at the former Western Electric Plant in Indianapolis and Small-Town Pizza in Ingalls.

She enjoyed camping, playing cards, spending time with family and had attended Fortville Christian Church. Carol is survived by daughter Sherry Gilleland of Ingalls; grandchildren: Brooke Allgood, Brandon Allgood, Chelsea Hennis and Haley Williams-Wheat; great grandson: Camden Allgood; brothers: Clarence (Peggy) Shepherd and Roger Shepherd; sisters-in-law: Alice Shepherd, Shirley Shepherd and Teresa Tuck; brother-in-law: Bill Cloud as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband David L. Hennis, son: David L. Hennis, Jr., siblings: Lawrence Shepherd Verln Shepherd, Tressie Shepherd, Jr., Shade Shepherd, Jerrie Manning, Irene, Inez Manning, Mattie Rhodes, Linda Cloud, Lister Hennis, sister-in-law Elizabeth Shepherd and brother-in-law Gene Tuck.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Friends may call on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery.
