Carolyn Guyton Smalley October 11, 1933 – February 01, 2019 Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Carolyn Smalley Gaffney, SC – – Carolyn Guyton Smalley, 85, formerly of Beaver Ridge Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 1, 2019 at National Healthcare. Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of the late Robert (Bob) Loyd Smalley and the daughter of the late Frank Ernest Guyton and Irene Guthrie Guyton. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School, enjoyed cooking, gardening, modeling and a former member of Williamston Garden Club.

Mrs. Smalley was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and previous member of West End Baptist Church, where she was a choir member and a soloist. Surviving are a son, Robert Scott Smalley and wife, Mary Ann of Gaffney; a daughter, Susan Smalley Small of Simpsonville; two sisters, Linda Thompson and husband, Marvin and Joan Perry, both of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Carolyn Haas and husband, Jay Jr., Johnson Small III, Adam Loyd Smalley and Christopher Scott Smalley; three great-grandchildren, Pruitt Haas, Tallulah Haas and Jay Haas III. Mrs. Smalley was preceded in death by a brother, William (Billy) Guyton; and a brother-in-law, William M. Perry.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:15 PM on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:30 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Keith Harrill officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
