Carrie Lanier December 18, 1938 – February 16, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Carrie Lee Lanier, 80, of Tiptonville died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg. Graveside services will be held at Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev.

Wilford Mobley officiating. She was born Dec. 18, 1938, in Lake County, daughter of the late Van and Willie (Shell) Work.

She worked as a cook at the former Air Park Inn and then as a steward for Lake County Correctional Facility, and a retiree from the State of Tennessee. She was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Alvin Lanier of Tiptonville; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Land of Union City and a brother, Doug Work of Ridgely.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carrie Whitson; a son, Terry Lanier, and nine brothers and sisters.
