Robert Carroll Teague, 86, of Leicester, died on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at his residence. Carroll was born on June 25, 1931. He was son of the late Robert Eugene and Mildred Wells Teague.

He was a lifelong resident of Buncombe Co., where he was a farmer, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He attended Beulah Baptist Church, where he served as Adult Sunday School teacher and Deacon for 34 years. Carroll proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Combat Construction Specialist and Squad Leader.

He was stationed in Germany from 1951-1954. He was preceded in death by three siblings: twin brothers and a sister. Carroll is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary W. Teague; three children, Robert Denrick and wife Ila, Karen Ray and husband Ronnie, and Sharon Smith and husband Bobby; grandchildren, Matthew Smith and wife Natalie, Jared Teague and fiancée Lauren Sparks, Daphne Warman and husband Rich, and Olivia Ray and fiancé Kevin Stack; and great-grandson, Eli Smith.

The funeral service for Mr. Teague will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Beulah Baptist Church with Pastor Ricky Wolfe officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.
