Obituary of Caryl Erickson Caryl S. Erickson, 87, of 220 Southwestern Drive, formerly of Bemus Point, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019 in her home. She was born in Jamestown on March 8, 1931, a daughter of the late Harry and Theresa Gold Sheldon, and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1949. In the 1960’s, Caryl worked as the office manager for the former Fountain Bowl.

She then served for over 30 years as bookkeeper and assisted with sales at Len’s Pro Shop. Caryl attended Christ First United Methodist Church and had been a member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, Vikings and the Celoron American Legion. She was both an avid and accomplished bowler, tennis player and golfer.

Surviving is her daughter, Leigh Jones of Reston, VA and son, Todd Erickson (Lori) of Bemus Point; four grandchildren: Tarn Jones (Courtney) of Ashburn, VA, Greyson Jones of Reston, VA, Jordin Smith (Drew) of Portland, NY and Haley Erickson (Andy Kraus); five great-grandchildren: Hannah Jones, Logan Jones, Caron Freeman, Skyler Freeman and Jolene Kraus; as well as a sister, Norma Campbell of Phoenix, AZ and brother-in-law, Charles Erickson of Jamestown. Caryl was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Erickson who died in 1989; two sisters, Dorothy Chandler and Joyce Swanson; and sister-in-law, Janice Larson. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home.

Pastor Mike Quimby will officiate. Burial will be in the Bemus Point Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd. , Jamestown, NY 14701.
