Obituary for Catherine Ann Tolchin Catherine Ann “Cathy” (Plecki) Tolchin, born April 20th, 1959, to the late Robert F. Plecki and Ruth R. Plecki, went home to our Lord on October 16th, 2018. She grew up in Burbank, IL, and graduated from Reavis High School in 1977. Cathy raised her two children, Barry and David, in Dixmoor, IL, and Romeoville, IL.

She was a property manager for several years, and a devoted mother her entire life. Cathy made many sacrifices for her children and friends, and filled their lives with love and laughter. She battled illnesses most of her adult life, and the world has never known a braver or stronger person.

Cathy was a lover of all animals, and was eternally devoted to her dog Cookie and her cat Kitty; and her departed pets Brandy, Lucky, and Shadow. She moved to Hilliard, OH in April 2018. She immediately made lasting friendships with her neighbors.

Cathy’s generosity and kindness were felt by many of them, and they will forever be grateful for the brief time they had with her. She will be forever loved and missed by her two children, Barry Tolchin, Jr. and David Tolchin; daughter-in-law Lindsay (Morgan) Tolchin; Melissa Feinberg, partner of David Tolchin; her siblings Karen Beckwith, Robert (Kathy) Plecki Jr., Richard (Cynthia) Plecki, Gregory (Lisa) Plecki, Patricia (Gus) Vlahopoulos; Aunt Rita Lubanski; nieces and nephews Steven Matarese, Dena (Jose) Campos, Robert Matarese, William Beckwith, Shawn Beckwith, Sarah (Tyler) Clasey, Daniel Plecki, Michael Plecki, Katherine Plecki, Jacob Plecki, Gregory (Keegan) Plecki, Ashley Shannonhouse, George Vlahopoulos, Tiffany Vlahopoulos, Taylor Tolchin, and Jack Tolchin; mother-in-law Janet Tolchin; Barry Tolchin, Sr., father of her children, and many other loving relatives, friends, and neighbors. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Saturday, October 27 at Lawn Funeral Home, Burbank, IL.

Funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 27 at St Albert the Great Catholic Church, Burbank, IL.
