Catherine E. Hill 90 of Derry, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at Mountain View Speciality Care. She was born on December 15, 1927 in Nanty Glo. She was a daughter of the late Robert Steeves and Katie Bell Bracken.

She was retired from Torrance State Hospital as a LPN. In addition to her parents she is preceded by her husband Thomas Hill, a son William Hill and brothers Richard, Robert, David and Fred Steeves and sisters Ethel Steeves and Viola Trinder. She is survived by her son Thomas R. Hill and his wife Linda of Pittsburgh, a daughter Verna K. and her husband Daniel Sackandy of Latrobe, Two grandchildren Danielle Sackandy Lauer and husband Brad and Michael Sackandy, two great grandchildren Jude and Anna Lauer ,two brothers Edward and William “Butch” Steeves, two sisters Rosella Squibb of Derry and Sylvia Hill and husband Jake of Blacklick, several nieces and nephews.

Catherine was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the Bradenville AMVETS Ladies Auxillary and enjoyed feeding birds and gardening. Friends will be received Thursday from 5 to 7 at the McCabe Funeral Home, where services will be conducted Friday May 18, at 10 AM with Pastor Brian Swann officiating.
