Catherine F. Furano, 91, a lifelong resident of Port Chester died February 16, 2019. Kay was born July 23, 1927 in Port Chester, NY to the late Joseph and Carmella Santora Corsaro. She was raised and educated in Port Chester growing up on Willow Street.

She worked as a seamstress in a parachute factory, supporting the war effort for the duration of World War II. She worked in both child care and elderly care after raising her family. Kay was the widow of Rocco Furano who died in 1985.

They were married in Port Chester in 1945. She was a parishioner of the Holy Rosary Church and enjoyed boating, bowling, bridge and a friendly game of poker. She is survived by her daughter Cathy Sapia and husband Tony of Port Chester, NY, sons Laurence Furano and his wife Patricia of Londonderry, NH Rocco Furano, III of Port Chester, NY, Ada Marie Vaccaro Furano of Stamford, CT, Joseph Furano and his wife Gena Marie of Corona, CA, and Mark Furano and his wife Monica of Matunuck, RI, grandchildren Peter Federici, Anthony Federici, Gina Furano, Rocco Furano, IV, Marzena Furano, Milena Furano, Emelia Furano, Jennifer Furano and her wife Christine DePari, Kimberly Furano, Melinda Kettler, Amber Fields Dobson Christopher Fields.

She is survived by eight great grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her brothers Vincent and Rocco and sisters Filomena, Fannie, Mary, Frances and Josephine. Visitation will be 4-8PM on Tuesday February 19, 2019 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM on Wednesday February 20, 2019 at Parish of Saint John Bosco (Corpus Christi) 136 South Regent St. Port Chester, NY.

Interment to follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery Rye Brook, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors in honor of her husband who was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Craft Memorial Home, Inc. 40 Leicester St. Port Chester, NY www.
