Obituary for Catherine L. Mingus Catherine L. (Thorpe) Mingus It is with great sadness that the family of Catherine Lee (Thorpe) Mingus announces her passing on Monday, October 29, 2018, at the age of 73 years. Catherine will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Stanley and her children: Lisa (Mike) Schreiber, Susan (Tom) Parr, and Michael (Teresa); and by her eight grandchildren, the loves of her life – Jacob, Benjamin, Samuel, Caden, Gavin, Sebastian, Garrett and Abby and four great-grandchildren, Carsten, Miles, Charlotte and Clayton. She will also be fondly remembered by her sisters: Nancy (Hiram) Bond, Debra (Ted) Schmidt, Penny (Bryan) Jorgenson, Carol Thorpe, and brothers, Steven Thorpe, and Kenneth (Tammy) Thorpe, along with numerous cherished nieces and nephews.

Catherine was predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Joyce (Schwartz) Thorpe, sister and brother-in-law, Vicki and Ken Sprotte, and granddaughter Emma Mingus. Catherine spent her life caring for the elderly working first as a CNA and then as LPN at various health care facilities in the area. Helping people out came natural to Catherine.

It was her reason for existing. Near the end of her healthcare career she was the Administrator at Liberty House Assisted Living Facility. As per her wishes, there will be no formal funeral.

Instead, a family gathering to remember and celebrate her life will be held at Catherine’s home on November 11, 2018 at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice in her memory. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Catherine L. Mingus please visit our Sympathy Store.
