Obituary for Catherine M. Veverka (Ridl) Catherine M. (Ridl) Veverka, 96, of North Huntingdon passed away Monday January 21, 2019 in the Transition Care Center, North Huntingdon. She was born May 20, 1922 in Fairmont to the late Andrew and Anna (Machek) Ridl. She worked various jobs and retired from Ringsdorf/Transtec.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, of Irwin for many years. She was a member of Lodge Keystone, Lodge Christa and District Council 8, where she held titles of treasure and Auditor. She was an avid bowler in her younger days, bowling 3 times weekly.
Dancing on Saturday nights with her “Frankie” to polkas and waltzes was another one of her favorite things to do. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband “Frankie” Veverka; brothers Andrew (Lydia) Maser Ridl, Edward and George Ridl; brother and sister-in-law Russell and Hazel Veverka and George Popella and Gladys. She is survived by daughter Andrea Veverka- Hall and her husband, Herb Hall, and a son Melvin Veverka and his wife, Cindy; three grandchildren Justin Veverka and his wife, Michelle, Caitlin Janin and her husband, Nikolas and Kylie Hunter; great grandchildren Siena and Stella Janin; a sister-in-law Rosemarie (Keslich) Ridl, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the “Activity Fund” at Transition Health Care. The family would like to thank Transitions Health Care, North Huntingdon and Heartland Hospice for “Bubs” care. Friends will be received 4=8 p.m. Thursday at the Ott Funeral Home Inc. 805 Pennsylvania Avenue Irwin.
A funeral service will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon. Catherine M.
