OBITUARY Cecelia E. Gasper April 22, 1921 – January 30, 2019 Cecelia “Ceil” E. Gasper, age 97, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019, while residing at Brookdale of Ravenna. She was born April 22, 1921, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents George and Barbara (Kuhar) Gasper. After graduation from Ravenna Township High School and Bohecker’s Business College, Ceil lived and worked in Cleveland.

She was an executive secretary and retired from Durkee Foods Company after 32 years of employment. After retirement, she returned to Ravenna and enjoyed spending time with her family. Ceil is survived by her sister Margaret and her brother Paul, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Mary, Agnes, Anne, and Helen Gasper, Christine (Henry) Trivelli, and Barbara (John) Kirkland, and her brothers Paul (Joann) Gasper, and George Gasper Jr She attended daily Mass at Immaculate Conception Church and belonged to Infant of Prague Guild, Catholic Daughters of America, and Young at Heart Club. While living in Cleveland, she was an active member of the Legion of Mary, a lay apostolate organization.

Ceil was a loyal fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend William Kraynak at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna, with a time of fellowship to follow. Private interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery.
