Cecil G. Turner, 86 of Cape Girardeau, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Southeast Hospital. He was born April 1, 1932 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to the late Cecil and Olive Opal (Jones) Turner. Cecil served in the US Army from 1952 until 1954.

He married Marilyn Saupe in 1952. She preceded him in death. He was a lineman and retired from Ameren after 30 plus years of service.

He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. He took pride in keeping his lawn looking its best, enjoyed hunting, fishing and the river when he was younger. He was an avid Cardinal baseball fan but most of all loved his family, church and God.

Loving survivors include a daughter, Deborah Sabella of Cape Girardeau; son, Doug (Tina) Turner of Cape Girardeau; sister, Judy Hanebrink of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, Chris (Kelly) Taylor, Sara (Chance) Taylor-Umfleet, Alexandra (John) Abernathy and Zachary Turner; step-grandchildren, John and Megan Baker; great-grandchildren, Mariah and Ashlyn Taylor, Grace and Sam Abernathy; step-great grandchildren, Jacob, Luke and Shelby Starzinger, Travell Stele, Arieanna Brown and Zariayah Hollis; many very special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marilyn; sisters, Virginia Harris and Jean Olive Kimble. Visitation will be Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mt.

Auburn Chapel. Funeral service will be Friday, February 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Douglas C. Breite officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
