Sharon Jean Eakers Brown known to all as Jeannie, 68, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 after a near lifelong battle with diabetes, they both finally gave up. To Heaven she goes. Sharon was born December 12, 1950 in Cape Girardeau to William “Bill” Eakers and Anna Earlene Tidwell Eakers.

She married Dale Brown on July 1, 1977 in Cape Girardeau and they lived happily ever after. These two were definitely meant for each other. Together they raised three children.

Sharon had a career in home health care and made her life and living taking care of others, whether they liked it or not. Sharon was a great wife, mother and a doting Grandmother. She was a great friend and an even greater enemy, if you were so unlucky.

She was smart, funny, strong and brave. With an undying will for what she wanted in life. She was truly a force in her friends and families lives.

She was loved by them all. She was a member of Red Star Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Virgil Dale Brown of Cape Girardeau; three children, Tim (Gloria) Pender, Jamie (Sharon) Pender and Cynthia (Ronnie) Cochran; eleven grandchildren, Linsey Reed, Lorey Pender, Dustin Wondrick, Leigha Grant, Caleb Pender, Kaylee Heider, Alaina Pender, Danny Lunsford, Tiffany, Tabatha and John Piwowarczyk;seven great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Katelyn, McKenzie, Jaxon, Alexus, Ava and Karleigh; two brothers, Terry (Sherry) Eakers and Scott (Karen) Eakers; one sister, Carolyn Boes; and special friends, Rose Clover, Becky Luebber-Sullivan and Kelly Baltzell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step father, Don Henderson; brother, Edward Rodgers; and lifelong friends, Becky Hill and Sue Coomer. Visitation will be 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Ford & Sons Sprigg St. Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
