Evelyn Fern Matlock, 85, of Mc Clure, Illinois died Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Jonesboro Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Jonesboro Il. She was born December 31, 1933 in Blodgett, Missouri to Claude and Mayme Jane Chappell Taylor. She and Rollie S. Matlock were married December 1952,at Paragould, Arkansas.

He passed away May 25, 2014. Evelyn worked at Davis Electric in her youth, later becoming a beautician before going on to become a License Practical Nurse working at St. Francis Medical Center. Her love of children lead her to be a CASA volunteer upon retirement.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of McClure Baptist Church. Survivors include her two sons, Rollie B. (Kathy) Matlock of Jackson, Missouri, James K. (Darla) Matlock of Mc Clure, Illinois; daughter Denise Leigh Matlock of Memphis, Tn.

one brother, Beryl Taylor of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; 8 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Ford & Sons Sprigg St. Chapel in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 6:00 PM Monday, February 11, 2019 at Ford & Sons Sprigg St. Chapel with the Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. Private burial will be at Lindsey Cemetery in McClure on Tuesday, Feb.
