Robert R. Snider, 86 of Cape Girardeau, passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Chateau Girardeau Health Center. He was born December 31, 1932 in Cape Girardeau to the late Ben W. and Flora A. (Cox) Snider. Robert was a 1951 graduate of Morley High School and served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War.

He and Doris J. Robinson were married January 25, 1957 in Cape Girardeau. Robert worked for Ozark Gas for 15 years and Commercial Transport Company for 25 years, retiring in 1992. He was a Life member of the V.F.W. Post 3838.

His father, Ben was a charter member of the V.F.W. Post 3838. Loving survivors include his wife, Doris J. Snider of 62 years of Cape Girardeau; daughters, Tina (Mark) Metje-Mason of Oran, Missouri and Dara Kay Snider (Ty Blattner) of Cape Girardeau; sister, N. Carolyn Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; granddaughter, Ashley “Brooke” Metje of Cape Girardeau; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, L.B. Snider, Shelton “Bub” Snider and Billy Snider; five sisters, Margaret “Sis” Bowell, Helen Lipe, Betty Anderson, Barbara Snider and Marilyn Snider.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Funeral service will be Monday, April 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev.

Zack Strong officiating. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Missouri Honor Guard and V.F.W. Post 3838. Memorial contributions may be given to the V.F.W. Post 3838.
