Flodema “Flo” Brown, 90, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, formerly of Chandler, Texas, entered Heaven’s Gates on Saturday, February 16, 2019. Born in 1928 in Skiatook, Oklahoma, she is predeceased by her parents, Logan Augustus and Bertha Jane (Bigley) Holeman, her late husband of 53 years, Lee Vernon Brown, and her sister, Eileen Ozbun, all of Chandler, Texas. Flo was a caring person who supported her husband, children, other family members, and friends through prayer and helpful advice.

Flo graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tulsa, but she believed her greatest accomplishment was her Christian faith and love for others. Flo also loved watching basketball both in person and on TV. She could often be found sitting in her living room watching both women’s and men’s university basketball teams and could provide information about the school’s athletic record.

Flo is survived by one sister, Geraldine McKinzie, of the San Antonio, Texas area, daughter Carla Fisher and husband Robert “Bob”, and son Douglas “Doug” Brown and wife Cheryl. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Nathan “Nate” Fisher and wife Kristen, Christina Ragain and husband Parker, and Logan Brown and wife Jennifer. Flo had four great-grandchildren, Ethan Fisher, Larissa Ragain, Gavin Martin, and Caden Brown.

Flo is also survived by a number of other loving relatives and close friends. A memorial service celebrating Flodema Brown’s life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Lake Palestine United Methodist Church, 2889 FM 315, Chandler, Texas. Late in her life Flo became interested in clean water ministries.

Flower donations may be sent to Lake Palestine United Methodist Church or memorial donations may be made to Hope Springs Water of Athens, Texas, or Mercy Ships of Lindale, Texas, for water and sanitation projects.
