Charles W. “Bill” Criddle, 88, of Oak Ridge, Missouri died Monday, February 18, 2019 at his home. He was born April 5, 1930 in Oak Ridge, Missouri to Charles B. and Grace M. Moore Criddle. He and Billie Lou McCanless were married September 18, 1948 at Osceola, Arkansas.

He served 20 years in Air Force from 1947 to 1967 serving in Japan and Goose Bay, Labrador. After his military service he worked 17 years on the river. Upon retiring from the river he opened Billie’s Place in Oak Ridge.

He was a life member of Altenthal-Joerns Post 158 of Jackson and the VFW. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. Survivors include his wife, Billie Lou Criddle of Oak Ridge, Missouri; one daughter, Donna Sue (Joe) Hoeh of Jackson, Missouri; one son, Charles Danny (Donna Marie) Criddle of Jackson, Missouri; two sisters, Juanita Niswonger of Jackson, Missouri and Dorothy Taylor of Jackson, Missouri; seven grandchildren; sixtenn great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Karla Jean Brown; one brother, David Lee Criddle; and one grandchild. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Ford & Sons Jackson Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Ford & Sons Jackson Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev.

Brandon Moore officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be given to First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge or Southeast Hospice.
