Cecil E. Powell, 66, of Searcy, passed away October 3, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Infirmary in Little Rock. He was born October 7, 1951 at Cotton Plant to the late Cecil and Opal Martin Powell. Mr. Powell was a Vietnam veteran serving in the US Army.

Cecil was self employed majority of his life including being a contractor owning Powell Construction, but he loved his time as an auctioneer with his company Powell Auction. He was also an avid fisherman, and loved outings in Alabama with his sons and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Powell and a sister, Rebecca Powell.

He married Jody Earley Powell June 5, 2012 after 14 years of loving companionship; she survives. He is also survived by three sons, Aaron Powell of Conway, Zebulun Clark (Mandi) of Beebe, and Arthur Earley (Angel) of McCrory; one daughter, Malinda Gills (Brody) of Omaha, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Brooklyn, Preston, Emillee, Autum, and Ethan; one brother, Bobby Powell of Indiana; three sisters, Patricia Lowery (Carl) of Bangston, Alabama, Mary Sue Jackson of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Jenny Foster (Stewart) of Jacksonville, Arkansas; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. No services are scheduled at this time.
