Celia Charles, 85, of Mount Gilead, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 7:53 am at home under hospice care. Mrs. Charles was born November 8, 1933 in Texas to the late Quirino Frausto and Felipa Frausto. In addition to her parents, she was also proceeded in death by her siblings, Quirino, Raul, and Roy.

Celia enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and gardening. She moved several times in her life, residing in Del Rio, Tx. for 24 years, Milpitas, Ca.

for 25 years, and Mt. Gilead, NC for 36 years. Celia was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose Lodge #1838 of Rockingham, VFW 2908, Amvets 910, and the United Methodist Church of Mt.

Gilead. Celia was married for 62 years to Oscar (O.P.) Charles, a mother of three; Fred Charles, Sylvia Charles and Sam Charles and wife Christy; a grandmother to Skye, Ashley, Nathaniel, Andrew, Zach, Tesia, Kaitlin; a great grandmother to Kyle, Azul, Evan, Bentley; siblings, Maria Molina, Olga Cardona, and Jesus Frausto. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:45 pm, Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle.

The funeral service will follow in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Pastor Wayne Lisenby. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Charles family.
