Cephus “Ethan” Bailey, 13, of Ranger, died suddenly on Sunday, March 3, 2019. Ethan was born in Cartersville on January 10, 2006. He was a student at Red Bud Middle School, and had attended Fairmount Elementary School.

Ethan loved the outdoors; he was an avid hunter. He also loved sports. He played baseball and football.

Ethan volunteered to help build Fairmount City Hall. He was a perfectionist; his competitive spirit was an essential part of his personality. Along with his family, Ethan attended Liberty Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents James Bailey Sr., Deborah Siniard, and Sgt. Paul Brown. Ethan is survived by his parents, James Bailey Jr. and Aprile Horner Bailey; his sisters, Kenzie Bailey and Lacie Bailey; his grandparents, Dale Horner and Tammy Baxter; his great-grandparents, John and Barbara Collins and Shirley Brown; his aunts, Megan (Aaron) Watson, Katelyn Horner, and Christy Hart; his cousins, Blake Watson, Haley Watson, Makayla Watson, Brittany Carver, and Brianna Cantrell; his great-uncle and aunt, Brad and Krista Shipman; many other relatives and close friends.

Ethan’s family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. His funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. from Heritage Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Ethan’s body will lie in state on Sunday at the church from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Rev.

Shane Parrott and Rev. Tim East will officiate. Pallbearers are Blake Watson, Aaron Watson, Brad Shipman, Martin Horner, David Baxter, and Dustin Lavallee.

The family suggests that memorials be made to help with the funeral expenses. Donations can be made at www. maxbrannonandsons.com, or mailed to the funeral home at PO Box 1027, Calhoun, GA 30703.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
