Chad Lester, 40 Kearney resident Chad R. Lester, 40 of Kearney died Monday, January 7, 2019 at his home. A memorial service will be held 1:30 pm Friday, January 11, 2019 at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney with the Rev. Roger Wendt officiating.

A private family interment will take place at Kearney Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Royal Family KIDS Camp – Kearney/North Platte. Condolences may be shared online at www.

osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services. Chad Ryan Lester was born October 20, 1978 in Kearney, NE to Clarence and Connie (Dodge) Lester.

He attended elementary school in Kearney and graduated from Elm Creek High School in 1997. Chad enjoyed many hours of hunting and fishing with his late grandfather, Neal Dodge. He also enjoyed trips with his family to Jamestown, ND, Carter Lake and Portland, OR, Fort Robinson, NE and Hilton Head, SC.

He attended New Life Church. The joy of his life was his daughter, Carina. They enjoyed fishing, hiking at Estes Park, setting up beautiful fish aquariums, playing cards and teaching her to drive.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Clarence and Connie Lester of Kearney; daughter, Carina of Elwood; sister and brother-in-law, Carina and Josh Bennison and nieces, Alexis and Ava of Helena, MT; grandmother, Darlyne Dodge of Kearney; grandmother, Harriett Lester of Council Bluffs, IA; aunts and uncles, Angelina and David Edge of Pewaukee, WI, Susan and Bob Wilcox of Little Falls, MN, Louis and Julie Lester of Fort Calhoun, NE, Cliff Lester of Council Bluffs, IA, as well as many cousins and friends. Chad was preceded in death by his grandfather, Neal Dodge and Clarence Lester, Sr; and his aunt Lynda Dodge. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Chad R.
