Charlene Mae Shaw, age 79, of Spring Lake passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at a local care facility. She was born January 4, 1940, in Chicago, IL to Douglas and Ruth (Schultz) Shaw. Charlene retired in 2001 from Evanston High School after working for thirty-one years as, a secretary to the athletic director.

She was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Grand Haven where she sang in the choir, member of the Altar Guild, and had worked in the church’s Thrift Shop. Charlene was very proud to have served as a Retired Seniors Volunteer Officer with the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety. She loved reading, lighthouses, and her black labs.

She is lovingly remembered by her church family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019, at St. John’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dr. Jared C. Cramer officiating.
