In Loving Memory Charlene Sue Hubbard July 28, 1938 – November 3, 2018 Charlene S. Hubbard, 80, passed away November 3, 2018 at the Washington Odd Fellows Home in Walla Walla. Viewing will be Friday, November 16th from 11am to 7pm and again on Saturday, November 17th from 9am to 1pm at Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 The Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla. A private interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, College Place, WA. Charlene was born to Henry Larter and Nelda Sunderland-Irving in Portland, Oregon on July 28, 1938. She grew up and attended schools in Roseburg and Sutherlin Oregon.

Later, Charlene married Richard William Hubbard on January 19, 1956 in Aberdeen, WA. Charlene was a Washington State Foster Parent for over 40 years and altogether she had fostered over 1700 children. She was a Foster Parent Mentor and Trainer, and she also worked at Valley Residential Services as a supervisor for foster children during family visits.

Charlene loved her family dearly and anyone else that needed her love or her help she was there. She made everyone feel like they were her favorite, and anyone who walked in her door was offered a meal. Charlene loved to go to the ocean; she also enjoyed crocheting, and spending time with family and friends.

Charlene is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard W. Hubbard, one daughter, Bonita Cate, three sons; Rodney Hubbard, Robert Hubbard, R. Jeremy Hubbard, one sister, Debbie Weston, one brother, Vern Larter, 26 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 8 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and son Rick Hubbard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Worthy Student Fund at the Walla Walla City SDA Church.
